Society maintanance of closed house -

I have a house in Ahmedabad,which is closed since 1 year ,same I informed to society.As per definition of maintanance - it is the amount being charged for maintain the facility which is used by the member. Here as I am not using any facility of the society or not doing any damage to facility I should not be charged (same is followed in utility bills) ,but society told me that they passed a rule in general meeting that any close house will be charged full maintanance.

Please give your legal advice that can society charge maintanance of closed house?
