Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
We are staying in a pagdi system where in we have 2 rooms, one is on rent and the other is occupied by us. The tenants are staying since 1985 and have been paying a rent on regular basis for which we provide them their rent reciept. Now the tenant is claiming the room to be their own as they have been living here since a long time. There was no agreement made while renting them this room. Is it possible for us to file a case against them for claiming the ownership of the property? We have all the property tax reciepts and also the tehsildar tax reciept. Can they file a case against us for claiming the house? They have their own rationcard, voter's id card and electricity bill.
