Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

i am a tenent in the building on which the landlord took loan and turned defaulter.Now we have settled his loan and purchased that building from the landlord for which the bank gave us 3 months time after paying some money as advance.Now the landlord is asking rent for 3 months on which we objected.So please advice me that whether we are liable to pay the rent and if yes then can we ask for interest on the amount we paid to the bank on his behalf.Please advice me today if possible because my registry date is tomorrow.we donnot have written agreement regarding this

If you dont have any written agreement then your owner may say that he himself submit the money to the bank and now want the same money from you, then what u will do. I dont understood r u a fool or so. Why you furnish the money without any proof.

Now you have to do what he says and ufcourse he can reject for registration and will definitely demand high amount on tomorrow. So be prepare for that also.

So advised not to pay any amount today, ask him you wil pay after registry.

On the face of it, the amount of rent for 3 months should be small in relation to the total purchase money. Though you have a right, it is better to settle the matter amicably.
