Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My wife has a elder sister. Her father died recently. Now her elder sister is claiming share on property purchased and registered on my wife's name before our marriage.we are hindus residing in andhra pradesh.Is her claim valid legally?

If the property is in your wifes name then she is the owner and no one else. Her sister cannot and will not get any share in the property.

You need to know the case made out. If a case is made out by elder sister to that effect that property was purchased by father in the name of daughter for family etc., then you need to counter the same effectively.
