Dear Querist,

Your friend's wife enjoys so much legal power in the form of Dowry Act, Domestic Violence Act and 125 Criminal Procedure Code for mantainence, that if she get to other side of table and start consulting lawyers. It would be a nightmare for your friend entire family.

In case your allegation is not proved and you fail to substantiate the same, it will fire back on you and has the potential of keeping your friend's entire family make sfuffer for years.

It is advisable that your friend should resolve the matter happily and amicably with his own wife confronting her and making her realise the mistake and rectify her faults. If she is misguided by lawyers, it would be very difficult for your friend to come from that trap.

Consult a good local lawyer as your friend and his family would have the biggest shock of their lives.

I would advise you that settle the matter amicably and make her realise that this is not the right practice.

Before taking any action please note that you have enough evidence to prove the same thing or else your friend will face the biggest trouble in his life.
