Sir/Madam, We are using Material Handling Equipment hired from one contractor and our annual payment on this account is about Rs. 240 lakhs. The contractor is being reimbursed Service Tax @ 10% + 2% + 1% on submission of proof of payment by him to Service Tax authorities. The contractor is making e-payment and providing us a color printout of the cyber receipt with the 20 digit code comprising of BSR code, Tender Date and Challan. My question is, is there a way to confirm the genuineness of the cyber receipt? In case the contractror "generates" (read manufactures) a cyber receipt and claims reimbursement how do I verify it for prevention? I shall be grateful for your considered views. Regards, Yogesh
