Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

dear sir,

I have purchased a property in navi mumbai 3 years ago and put my name and my mothers name jointly in the sale deed, now my mother insist that I transfer the said property in my name, she has made a registered willstating that I am the sole and only heir of this property, what should I do to transfer this property held jointly with my mother to my name? please guide and advice....thanks...siji maveli.

you have completed the formality by way of WILL. The only point is that the will comes into play after the death of mother. So, if you want her to transfer her share during her life time, then you will have to get a gift deed on which you will have to pay stamp duty.
