Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India
Devolution of Estate of Intestate Bachelor
My uncle who is a Hindu Bachelor expired intestate 2 months back.He is survived by two brothers who have two children each. My late father who is another brother of his has only one son(me). I am given to understand that since his other brothers are surviving only they are entitled to inherit and since my father has expired I would not be able to inherit any portion of my uncle's property. Please enlighten me on my rights.

Yes, as per the schedule of the Hindu Succession Act - you are not entitled to any share.
Re: Devolution of Estate of Intestate Bachelor
you have equal right along with your uncles as per Hindu Succession Act. Your brother and sisters along with you are jointly entitled to one share of your father along with your surviving uncles.
