Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India
What is the difference between Probate & "Letter of Administration". My mother dies leaving behind a registered will on us 2 sons. There is no other person mention in the will. What do we have to obtain Probate or Letter of Administration??
We have just obtained Letter of Administration from the high court but now the society in which we we live in is not transferring our names on the society records & are asking us to go get Probate.
pls advice.

yes, probate is necessary for complete ownership and letter of administration, as it suggests, is only to administer the property without ownership.
