Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India
My grandparents have a rental house in Pune in Raviwar Peth since the last 60 to 70 yrs where my aunt is still staying, we want to know the rules & regulations through which we can transfer the tenancy rights to ourselves as she is very old & keeps ill health. The Landlord wants her to vacate the house but in lieu of the house he is just giving a few thousand rupees to my aunt whereas she must get more compensation from him. If we do not wish to give away the house to him then is there any way by which we can transfer the rental receipt to my mothers name as it is her fathers place.

for this you may contact a local lawyer who is well versed in rent laws
The rental receipts cannot be transferred by aunt in favour of any one without the consent of the landlord. Any such receipt will make the transferree an unauthorised occupant or a sub tenant giving a right to the landlord for eviction.
