Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

can mother estinguish children rights on inheritance

my grandfather died intestate, leaving grandmother(widow) 2 daughters and son. I am daughter of the first daughter. My uncle took something in writing from my mother and aunt to the effect of relenquishing their property rights to him when I was young. Does her relinquishment estinguishes our inheritance rights as grand children? Can we ask for distribution of our share

In my humble opinion you have lost your share in the property right from the time when it was relinquished. Since your mother has already surrendered her share in favour of your uncle, therefore, now you are not entitled share.

Anyway, consult local lawyer who will be in better position to advise.
