hello sir,
I am From Ahmedabad,INDIA
I have purchased a bunglow,
Recently i got the "DASTAVEG" and "INDEX COPY" to my name.
Now i want transfer my name in "7/12 UTARA" so i got the property bill of my name.
I went to Collector office n/r RTO,
there i talk in office and they ask for 4500 Rs, for transferring my name in property tax and for getting "7/12 NO UTARO".
Is this legal Charge for getting this???
can u give me brief detail abt this procedure and charge for this??

you may consult a local advocate. But if they are ready to issue receipt it is legal charge and no harm in paying.

Please note 7/12 is for agricultural piece of land. Since you have purchased a bunglow, i presume it is Non-Agriculture property. There entry is made in form no. 2 and property card register. for NA property 7/12 has no locus.
To get your name transferred in property tax, you only have to produce a Index 2 copy and due form, and some nominal fees. That is it. Same is for electricity connection.
