Workmen Compensation
I am assoicate with Tata Group / I have given a job to one vendor for which he has to depute his own labour or hire the labour to carry out the job. / Is it comulsory for the vendor to take Workmen Compensation Insurance Policy, if the vendor has not taken , are we as a Tata will be be affected, if anything happens to any labour

You may insist upon the vendor to obtain insurance.

Yes, of course TATA will be held liable against compulsory payment on account of Insurance. TATA may compel vendor in doing so. All depend on nature of contract your entered.

Since you are not engaging the labour directly you may claim that you are not responsible. But under voicourious laibility you are responsible to pay the same.
