Legal Question in Disability Law in Indiana

Is it legal for a dentist to treat and medicate a minor child ( infant on up) without a parent being in the room? A local dentist will not allow any parent to be with their child ( under any circumstances) and can treat or medicate as he decides without their permission. If this is legal, it should not be. What parent, in todays world, wants to turn their child, who is not old enough to ask for help or defend himself in any way, over to a stranger to treat as they decide, without any input from the parent. That is beyond scary.
