Legal Question in Disability Law in Indiana
Pregnancy discrimination
I am 7 months pregnant. My employer cut my hours from 10-30 weekly to 4 per week. He argues that it is because of declining business, however I am the only employee to have such cuts to my hours. Does this sound like discrimination? I feel that it is because they think I am worthless and unattractive pregnant. I am a bartender at a fine dining restaurant. Any suggestions?

Re: Pregnancy discrimination
If you are being treated differently or singled out because you are pregnant, then you can bring a claim against your employer, assuming that they have at least 6 employees. You can contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or Indiana Civil RIghts Commission. You may want to contact an attorney directly to discuss your situation in more detail. Many attorneys offer a free telephone consultation (including myself) during which you can gain more direction regarding your specific circumstances. If you would like, you can reach me at the number in my proifile or at [email protected].
