Legal Question in Banking Law in Indiana
$8,000 Mistake
My now ex-boyfriend was having money problems. My parents and I decided to get him a loan for $8000 to help with his bills. The loan is for 3 years and he fully agreed to pay for it no matter what. Now I'm stuck with a loan that I do not benefit from. That's what happens when you care too much about someone. Any help would be wonderful.

Re: $8,000 Mistake
If you signed the loan documents, you are legally obligated to pay the loan and it is not a defense that the money went elsewhere. However, you can sue your ex boyfriend for contribution or simply repayment of the money you loaned him-the problem is, can you collect from him? Does he have assets or a job from which he can repay you?
Try contacting a collection attorney who is will ing to take the claim against him on a contingent fee arrangement-where he gets a percentage of what he collects for fees. Good luck!
