Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana

Bankrupcy chapter 13My son
My son in law and my daughter have filed chapter 13 money is taking out of my son in laws check sometimes he ends up with a 4 dollar check after they take out. the problem is now my daughter is 4 months pregnet and when the baby is born she will be off work for six weeks or more.They have been paying on this for 2 yrs. my question is what can they do to get the payment lowered or is there anything they do they also have a 3 yr at home.they cant live on his four dollar checks . any advice would be very helpful Thank you

I doubt they would be able to get the plan payments lowered under conditions that they voluntarily undertook.

Could they convert to a chapter 7 bankruptcy at this point and just get the debts discharged outright?
