Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana

Bankruptcy: Forgot to add creditors

I have already been to the meeting of creditors,

and am just waiting till the designated time has

elapsed for my creditors to contest it. I forget

to add two creditors. How do i go about doing

this. I represented myself, and did not have a

lawyer.

Re: Bankruptcy: Forgot to add creditors

Send a motion to the court, including an affidavit in which you explain what the debts are, giving names and addresses of the creditors, and explaining why you forgot to add them in the first place. Send a copy of the papers to the creditors, registered mail, return receipt requested; you will also need to prove that you have served the creditors.

If you have trouble with this, ask the bankruptcy court clerk to show you what such a motion looks like.

You really should get a lawyer to help you, to make sure you haven't overlooked something important. If you can't afford a lawyer, ask Legal Aid for help, or try your local bar association - most bar associations have panels of lawyers willing to help for reduced fees.

Good luck!
