Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
My daughter is desperate...Can a creditor freeze her "checking" account? Her account was frozen with 2235.00 and her mortgage payment is due of 1200.00. If she gets behind on her mortgage, She may lose her home. How can they freeze her checking? Her brother just loaned her 2000.00 to put into the account to cover this and she still can't make the payment because it's froze.

Yes, a creditor CAN freeze a bank account. Your daughter should have received some sort of notice of civil lawsuit pertaining this. If not, there can be an emergency motion filed to get the judgment set aside. Also, there are other ways this can be stopped. You can call my secondary number now or first thing in the morning. I can help you stop this.
