Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Desperate for help
4 years ago I filed a Chapter 7 due to a divorce. Now, my new husband and I are in serious financial trouble due to medical bills. Can he file a Chapter 7 alone and once it is discharged, file a Chapter 13 jointly with me?

Why not have both of you file for ch 13 now? It sounds like you have serious financial trouble and should consult a bankruptcy specialist asap-there is no fee for the initial consultation.
The short answer is generally you could have your husband file a ch 7 first and then join in a 13 with you later. I just dont see the sense in doing that but then I know nothing of your current situation.
