Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Early payoff on chapter 13
My husband and I have 10 more months left on a chapter 13 plan. My parents have offered to give us a check for the amount we owe on our last 10 payments so we can be finished with the plan. Should I contact a lawyer and check into an early payoff, or is this something we are not allowed to do?

Re: Early payoff on chapter 13
If you started your Chapter 13 with a lawyer, he is the person you should first talk to, or is he is no longer involved, contact your trustee. An early payoff is certainly permissible and your trustee will be able to tell you the exact amount that will be.
