Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Ex-husband is filing bandruptcy against me.
I am recently divorced. In the divorce decree, my ex-husband was ordered to pay half of three credit card payments. One is in both of our names and the other two are in only my name. He was also supposed to refinance his car to remove my name from the loan. He hasn't done that. He is now filing bandruptcy on the money for the credit cards and maybe the car. What rights do I have? Is there any way that I can fight this?

Yes, but you must act quickly. You only have 60 days from when your ex has his first meeting of creditors to object to him discharging these debts. I urge you to hire a bankruptcy attorney asap so you can pursue an objection to discharge inb the bankruptcy court. Otherwise, you will have to pay these creditors yourself or consider filing your own bankruptcy to rid yourself of these obligations.
