Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Filing for bankruptcy
If a person has previously filed bankruptcy, how long before they can file again? 7 years from the original filing of the petition, or 7 years after it has been discharged? (They filed whichever chapter it is where you pay back a portion of your debt). Thank you.

Re: Filing for bankruptcy
You can file a new petition for chapter 7 bankruptcy protection every SIX years, not seven.
The time is as of the date of filing of the petition, not as of the date of discharge.
