Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Financial Aid Implications
Situation: Girlfriend has 12k in credit card debt, is currently a junior in college and is getting financial aid. Her income is too low to pay for an apartment, her bills, and food. She works part time. If she files for a chapter 7 bankruptcy to eliminate her credit card debt, will she still be able to receive financial aid for her last year of college?

Re: Financial Aid Implications
Most likely, although some financial aid goes through private lenders and even though the government guarantees the loans, the lender may deny the application-check with financial aid before filing to see if the type of aid she has will be affected
