Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Can my husband include a land contract in a bankruptcy?
My husband and I signed a land contract for some property (includes 2 homes)in 2004. We are now being faced with some repairs that are more then we can afford (a new septic system has to be installed because the ones that are here now are to outdated.) My question is, can we file bankruptcy and include the land contract in it?

Yes, the land contract can be included as a claim in bankruptcy. Obviously, more specific facts would be needed to determine exactly what kind of claim it would be, but based on the information provided (and making no other assumptions) it appears that "getting rid of" the contract as part of a bankruptcy proceeding would be possible.
