Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana
Out of state bankruptcy filing
I moved to Indiana in June of 2000 from Illinois. I plan on filing bankruptcy but don't know if I can file in Indiana or Illinois. All of my credit is from Illinois. Where do I file?

Re: Out of state bankruptcy filing
You file in the state of your current residence. You rely on the exemptions available in the state of your current residence. The court here merely gives notice to the creditors elsewhere.
