automobile purchase

i purchased an automobile for my grandaughter to get to college and to her part time job--vehicle was purchased on 8-9-08--dealer now says they have no title for the vehicle--need tags now what

I assume you want to keep the car, so apply for a lost title or have the dealer do so.
