Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
Breach of Contract
I worked as an independent contractor delivering newspapers on a motor route. The company changed it to a mail route without giving me any notice. I thought this was a breach since I no longer was able to do what the contract specified, and they didn't give me written notice. I sent them a letter stating this and asking for the damages as outlined in the contract. They called me back and left a message on the day it was to change to a mail route telling me they were giving me 30 days notice and that they expected me to deliver the papers until the end of the month. They had already given the subscribers notice of the change and I had gotten a new job.
Can they possibly say that I breached the contract because I didn't deliver the papers after they called?
Do I have a chance of recovering the 'damages'?
Is there anything else I can do to pursue this matter?

Everything turns on the exact language of the contract.
