collect profits form a company
can a person collect a percentage of the profits from a company based soley on the use of his last name in the company logo?

There is no law to prohibit a person from collecting a percentage of profits from a company based solely on the use of that person's last name. If the company made an agreement for it, then the agreement can be enforced.
