Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
Job Transer Pay
I transfered to a cheaper market (same job) and expected some pay deduction but what they did seemed excessive and not based on any numeric standard (the high pay range was $9.50/hr and I made $10.50 [b/c experience] in high market but the high pay range was $8 and they would only give me $8 when I thought $9 was fair, in the cheaper market. Plus the minimum wage difference between the two states was $1.50, so $9.00 would seem right.) so I was wondering if they could use change of market as an excuse to change my pay to a totally unreasonable amount given it was the same company and the same job.

If you are an at-will, employee then it is just about anything goes. Not really enough facts to tell whether you are an at-will employee or not.
