Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
Does Michigan law preclude hotels from requiring photo identification at check-in?
I manage a hotel in Michigan, and had a guest refuse to provide me with photo identification at check-in, as is required by our company policy. He told me that by law, we cannot require photo identification at check-in unless we have a written notice posted to that effect. I have been unable to locate such a policy in Michigan statute, but I want to know for sure.
