Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
pen color for legal documents/permanent records
I am in Human Resources and we were having a discussion over pen color preference. I have used blue ink for the last 6+ years in HR and was never corrected by prior bosses, legal counsel, etc. It was discussed today and stated that I should be using black ink only. Please advise. I want to be using the correct color for legal purposes. Thanks.

Re: pen color for legal documents/permanent records
The custom and practice has been black. However, due to technology, copies can be hard to distinguish from originals and therefore, in recent years, the preference has been blue ink for originals. However, if your higher-ups and legal want black, give it to them.
