Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
I am about to sign a long-term contract (12 months) to do some contract work in the area of market research/market analysis.
There are a couple standard, 2-year, non-compete clauses in the contract. I have signed "employee" contracts with these non-compete clauses in the past with the understanding that these clauses do not really hold up in court. I never really took them seriously.
However, with contract and consulting work, these clauses might have a greater impact after the contract is completed. Should I be more concerned about these clauses? why? whynot?
Thank you!

You have already answered your own question. Yes, you should. If they are properly drafted they are enforceable. This is your own business as opposed to employment. Have an attorney review and modify.
