Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
Sign partners name on check in LLC
My partner and I owned several retail stores as an LLC. The checks written at the stores were made out to our DBA company name and I signed them for deposit. Four years ago someone wrote a bad check for $700 and we just now recovered it from the County Office. My partner is now gone and the check has both the DBA name and attention his name (because he went down and filed the claim). The business is now closed four years later and he skipped out on me with about $6K in debt. Can I deposit the check as a previous partner in this LLC? Options.

Re: Sign partners name on check in LLC
This depends on your operating agreement and if your LLC was properly dissolved or not.
