Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana

I have a small claims case going-the person I have it against has an attorney that has become quiet threatening and harassing to me. He tried to get me to settle, within a matter of hours, I recanted the settlement. He then contacted me yelling and threatening me stating I would now be liable for his attorney fees. He filed a sanctions and fees? suit against me now. I think this attorney is trying to bully me. I don't know what to do. I have a solid case against him. I recanted my settlement because I felt he "duked" me into settling. I thought you had a certain amount of time to accept the offer.

Can you advise me. I am so upset about all of this. I just want to be reimbursed what I am owed. Thanks.

Once you have agreed to a settlement, as you say you did, there are only limited instances in which the law allows you to withdraw from the settlement without penalty.

Having second thoughts about the settlement, or deciding that you were taken advantage of by the lawyer for the other side, are not among the acceptable reasons to withdraw from a settlement.

You are in a difficult position. Good luck in resolving it successfully.
