Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
If I were terminated from my job for a stated reason of "company downsizing", is there a time-frame or certain conditions the company must meet before hiring someone else to fill my previous position?

i don't believe there is a set time-frame or conditions. it depends on the circumstances. indiana is an at will state meaning an employer can terminate you for any reason other than a constitutionally protected area such as: race, age, sex, ethnicity, retaliation for exercising a legal right. for example, if you are 50 and get replaced with someone who is 25 , i think it might be discriminatory. the first step is always to file a complaint with the EEOC. you are welcome to make a free call to one of our employment lawyers: rich long, carla pyle, adam sedia or nicole keith to give them the facts and get an answer to your situation.
