Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana

I work in an automotive dealership. My employer is wanting to charge technicians for the parts that they damage when repairing a vehicle. I work in Indiana. Is this practice legal? I had this question come up very early in my career working on cars and was settled by an individual that got ahold of a local newspaper that stated charging techs for parts they damage is illegal but not making them put on the parts supplied by the shop. Am I still correct in my thinking or has this law changed since about 20+ years ago?

You are SO right. The employer cannot charge for parts damage against their wages. However, the people of Indiana have seen fit to vote in the people who support enslaving workers. Therefore, your employer can fire you on a whim. You have no rights. That's what Indiana wants.
