Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
I work at a hotel. A guest skipped out without paying. I have a credit card on file from a recent stay for this guest. Is it okay to charge the credit card even though it's a different form of payment then she agreed to pay at check-in?

No, it is not okay. What you should do is file a claim in small claims court for the amount of money owed. Get your judgment. Then file a "proceeding supplemental" and tell the judge you have the credit card data of the guest. The judge will issue an order saying its okay to charge that credit card for the amount of money owed from the hotel stay, plus court fees and costs.
