I did some work for someone, now they are refusing to pay me what are my rights?

As a Franchise Attorney I can only add the following. If you were an employee you may be able to file a claim with your state's employment or labor law department. If you were an independent contractor, you will very likely need to file a lawsuit, if a demand letter is not productive. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
