Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana
am I in the right
I had some work done on my truck at a local business. They qouted me $261 for the part and $55 for the labor. I have that quote on a voicemail they left me. I agreed to that and left them with my truck. My wife stopped by to pay for the work and he said that he had not started working on it yet and to come back later to pay. When she did, he told her that the part was $457 and labor was $82. He said he had knocked $100 off off the part so the part was $357. I think he should have told me about the price difference because I could have got the part myself for less money. He wouldn't even tell my wife the price because he knew that she wouln't have let him do the work if she would have known what he was going to charge. Is there anything that can be done about this?

File a complaint with the BBB and also a small clains case against the owner. However, read your work order to see if there is some disclaimer language concerning estimates befor filing.
