Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana
Email Invasion
Last August I divorced my wife of 8 yrs. Shortly after I realized I made a mistake and asked if she would take me back. She said she met someone and wanted to date him. I decided to give her time and for months had no contact with her. Recently I wanted to contact her again but didn't want to if she was still involved with him. My solution was to hire a hacker on the web to obtain her email address. In a week an email was delivered to me with her address. I did not disturb anything but only viewed her in/out mail, over a 3 day period. On the last day I looked in her account, there was an email to a friend of hers whereas she states that her ex-husband has been into her account and has invaded her privacy. As this was going on my company PC from which I did this picked up a program called Perfect Keylogger. The long & short of it is that apparently she was tipped off that I was doing this and had a friend of hers who is computer savey load a program on mine that documented what I did. Our IT dept tracked it down to her friend's PC. I know I shouldn't have done this & am scared to death. Can her friends evidence be used against me? What laws have been broke? What are the ramifications? Are we both potentually in trouble or just me?

Re: Email Invasion
Some potentially serious problems here. Perhaps for both. You should not discuss the matter with anyone at work but instead, consult immediately with a lawyer in private. And DO NOT do any more queries online.
