Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana

i found the person who broke in my home

i found out that my brother and his friend were the people that broke in my house and stole a t.v. that i was renting and a xbox 360, i want to know what is the best way i can make sure that they get punished for this and can i sue them for the incident and the cost of the t.v. and the cost of me having to move for not feeling safe in my previous home. i want to press charges to the fullest extent, but i don't know where to begin, i've never had to deal with a situation like this, should i get a lawyer or will the law punish them accordingly. please inform me on the best way to pursue this situation, it makes me very angry that my own family would do this to me. thank you---

Acts of your brother and his friend is crime under Indian Penal Code which can be reported to local police station who will register FIR on your instance and will take action in accordance to law. You may also avail civil remedy of damages you suffered from.
