Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana

health problems

i am to report to jail this friday to serve 30days for writing a bad check. i have been recently diagnisised with hypokalemia, really low potatisum. my doctor has ordered me to take 2800mg of potatisum per day and to do 2 24hour urine tests in the next 30 days and to have blood work done and to have another renal scan done in the next 2 weeks. the jail has said that they will not allow me to take the pills even they have been prescribed. they will also not allow me to do the test and i feel this will hurt my health. i have looked up all the information and it has stated that I could die from this.

Re: health problems

You need to have medical care while in jail. There is a procedure to make sure that it is done, and your doctor should be able to help with this. Make sure s/he knows about it and does whatever is necessary to monitor you while you're incarcerated.
