Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana

Internet Slander or Libel

Hello. Let's say my name is Mary Castle. If someone buys a domain with my name in it, for example www.marycastle.com, and posts pictures of me and calls me names and tells all my personal business and suggests that I'm a prostitute etc. Is there any criminal or civil action that I can take? And is it a civil or is it a criminal matter?

Re: Internet Slander or Libel

This is more than slander, it is also identity theft, a somewhat new tort, but recoginized in many jurisdictions. Contact a local attorney to find out your rights in your state.
