Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana
Military Recruitment
i am planning a student led protest at my school and i want to know whether of not what we want is legal... we want military recruiters to set up their boothes inside a designated area that can be announced to the student body but not in plain view where we are subject to harassment. the intimidation of the military and their recruiters is not based even soley on their actions but on their presence. so the question is would it be fair to ask recruiters to stay inside a certain room or area while trying to recruit in a school?

Re: Military Recruitment
Since when is setting up a booth "harrassment?" And their presence is "intimidation?" You're so intimidated you're going to protest? You detest them so much you're going to ban them to what, the laundry room? Locker room? You're going to take your personal desires and impose them on the entire student body?
I've seen their setups and they're very professional and the recruiters have strict orders as to how they recruit. They do not reach out and grab students walking by and it isn't a circus carnival with the recruiter as a "barker." Your post is misleading.
Do not let the fact that you don't want to serve or that you're upset with the military or that you have a personal agenda of some sort (pacifist, whatever) stand in the way of the rights of others to exercise their right of free speech and association.
Seems that a better way might be to set up your own "booth" nearby with your own personal message.
Methinks thou protesteth too much.
