Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana
Hello, my question to you is?. Take the Cambridges case between the cop and professer. When the cop ask the man to step outside and talk with him. The man asked the cop, will any thing happen to me?. and the cop said no. Yet the cop still put the cuffs on him. What if a person says no to the cop when they are in there own home and don't want to go out side. Will the cop still have rights to handcuff and take you too jail?.

Would likely depend upon whether the cop reasonably believes that there is probable cause to conclude that the homeowner has committed a crime for which he can be arrested(in his home or elsewhere).
