Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana
My roommate and I recently decided to stop living together. Before my roommate moved out she had left her toilet running for two weeks straight. I just got the water bill and it is $500. I have tried to reasonably deal with this myself but she refuses to give me more the $100 for the bill. I have documentation and proof that it was her toilet running and that it was her toilet that caused the bill to be so high. My question is if I have a case that would hold up in small claims court? I also want to know who is liable for this. Thank you.

Whoever is on the account with the water company is leaglly liable to the water company. You could sue your ex roomate based on whatever your agreement was with her for her share.
