slander
A person has cost me to lose my job by telling my employer that I threatened her son and has people from a business lying to my employer also. Can I go after the person and the business for slander?

You have to prove that the statements are false. This will backfire on you if you have no proof.

Sure can.
Did a case a few years ago where a management employee did that to a client. We eventually settled out of court.
Definitely something to consider.
