Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana
Still in my name
I sold my car in January and just let the person take over the payments. I am now trying to get a vehicle but I can't because the car is still in my name. I have talked to the new owner about this and they will not get the car out of my name. What are my rights?? Can I take the car back, or is there anything I can do??
Thanks

Re: Still in my name
If you can do it peacefully, without commiting a crime or causing a disturbance, you can retake possession of the car as it is titled in your name. That will surely get their attention.
Also, if you can get possession of the title, you can transfer the car to their names, subject to the mortgage, as you are the registered owner.
