Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Indiana
Warrantless arrest
My son was arrested and held six days in jail on a warrantless arrest and later released without charges ever being filed. Is that a violation of his civil rights? Was
that against the law? Judge allowed detective a 72 hour extension to do paperwork and gather evidence.

Re: Warrantless arrest
One can be arrested without a warrant. It went before a judge and the state still did not make a prima facie case. With the facts you have given, everything was done properly.
